The OHMC project is financed by the Cambridge University Academic Seed Fund.
With this help, we are building a programme of research which will enable us to recreate a wide range of realistic scenarios, for example:
- a doctor indialogue with a human subject conducting a test using equipment which can offer diagnostic advice;
- a robotassistant navigating a busy social setting such as a shop or street scene;
- people and machines workingtogether to complete assembly or inspection tasks;
- a human using an intelligent system to monitorrehabilitation after illness or injuryor undertake training.
The OHMC equipment will also enable us to conduct experiments involving people working together without intelligent systems: understanding the fundamentals of human-human collaboration is integral to delivering effective human-machine partnerships.We hope that this scenario-setting ability will attract interest and engagement from across the University,and seed novel collaborations and interactions.
